@ashmeshedup @pixelfed also: why black bars anyway? can't the image be extended to the screen edge? why is the screen height the limiting factor and not the screen width?
@ashmeshedup @pixelfed still not working but found out that the detail page is still a preview and the full image is only shown when I tab the image on the detail page again. Why? Feels like it's one (unnecessary) step too much.
There really is a great divide, isn't there?
I could name a lot of European comic artists, as I grew up with them. (I have never been comfortable with the term "comic", I wish there was a term closer to BD in English).
I can't name a single UK/US comic artist. For manga, I can off the top of my head name three and I know the works of a few more but can't recall their names right now. Which I guess shows I'm not really a manga fan ^_^
@wim_v12e @wombatarama Now that I think of it, even though I do a lecture once a year on the history of European comics, I am not entirely confidant that I could name ten artists off the top of my head. Wait, let me test that.
Moebius
Roger Leloup
Hugo Pratt
Enki Bilal
Jodorowsky (spelling? does he even count?)
I'm stuck trying to remember the original creators of Asterix, as well as Blacksad. Same with Spiro. I'm also drawing a blank on the BD about the stupid but lovable maid from Britanny.

Hi mayor (on Bluesky).seattle.gov and sound-transit (on Bluesky).bsky.social!
Could you help with an accessibility improvement for the light rail design?
The 1 and 2 lines use colored squares to designate which line it is on the LED display.
I think riders might struggle with distinguishing lines with this display…
Racist violent vigilante groups are in fact organized by abusive misogynists? Whoda thunk it! 🙄

I am in *awe* of the bravery of the women who are exposing this. They are putting themselves in danger, knowingly, having gone through the hell of being in abusive relationships with these men.
These women deserve our utmost gratitude, respect, and our undivided attention.
@alexchapman @fireborn Nah, the word Meta as a modifier key name goes way back, at least to the Emacs editor in the 80s if not before.

Seeing more and more women at #FediForum each time is really heartening! Go women in tech!
And also women showing up in tech spaces to show that non techy skills are also important in building the Fediverse!
